Description
The Nursing Supervisor's primary function is to represent and serve as a liaison between the Administrative team and employees, physicians, patients, families, and customers. To provide general supervision in the hospital and to facilitate communication among employees, patients, families, physicians and administration. Additional key functions include, but are not limited to: bed placement/coordination, support and intervene as needed to solve patient care concerns and employee concerns, assist department leaders as needed to adjust daily staffing. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, conflict management skills, human relationship skills, team building, and the ability to facilitate change, promote the throughput goals and needs of the organization. Proficiently uses the electronic medical record for retrieval of patient information. Understands computer downtime.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred. Graduate of an accredited school nursing. Registered Nurse currently licensed with the state of Florida Board of Examiners. Advanced Life Support (ACLS) required.
Must have basic telemetry training and skills.
A minimum of five years of nursing experience within the acute care setting required with a minimum of two years of charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
