Description
Performs the following duties of the Professional Registered Nurse in the acute hospital setting. Responsible for the delivery of safe, therapeutic and cost effective nursing care. Uses the standard nursing process and skills of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for the following patient care populations: geriatrics, adult, adolescent and pediatric. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate and cost effective nursing care. Participates as a collaborative member of the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial healthcare team. Demonstrates effective use and support of the FHFM Superior Service Standards within the hospital and clinical setting. Responsible to adhere to the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Corporate Compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state and federal agencies and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
A Float Pool/PRN R.N. is scheduled to work on an "as needed" basis, dependent upon the staffing needs of the hospital. Will be required to schedule four (4) shifts in four week period, one (1) of which must be a weekend shift (Saturday a.m. or p.m., Sunday a.m. or p.m.).
Qualifications
Qualifications include the proven ability, through documented competency, to float to one or all nursing care units. The nursing care units are Med-Surg, ICU, PCU, Emergency Dept., Surgical Services (PACU, Pre-op, ASC), and Cath Lab.
Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing. Current registration with Florida State Board of Examiners or licensed in another state awaiting results of Florida registration. Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) card. Completion of a Basic and Advance EKG program required. A current Advanced Life Support card is preferred. Demonstrates good use of the English language in the verbal and written form. Two years of previous hospital experience in the acute care setting or equivalent is required. Demonstrates good use of the English language in the verbal and written form.
